Dubai, UAE, 4 February 2026: Dubai Safari Park, the emirate's premier wildlife and conservation destination, proudly announces the birth of a Southern giraffe calf, Zuri, born a few months ago. The birth marks a significant milestone in the park's commitment to conservation, as Southern giraffes are currently classified as Vulnerable by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN), with an estimated 45,000 to 50,000 remaining in the wild.

The arrival of the calf, who is healthy and thriving under the expert care of Dubai Safari Park's zoologists, underscores the success of the park's endangered species breeding program, which aims to boost populations of vulnerable and endangered species through collaborative efforts with local and international wildlife parks.

"The birth of the Southern giraffe calf was a fitting welcome to inaugurating Season 7, encapsulating our ongoing dedication to wildlife conservation at Dubai Safari Park. Our endangered species breeding program is central to our mission of protecting vulnerable species and raising awareness about the urgent need for global conservation efforts. This is a proud moment for the park, and we look forward to sharing this achievement with our visitors, who stand with us as fellow animal conservation advocates."
